Board of Directors and Management
CARL VON EINSIEDEL – Director and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Carl von Einsiedel, Sierra Madre’s CEO, has worked as a consulting exploration geologist and independent contractor since the early 1980’s and received his Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Carleton University in Ottawa in 1987. Mr. von Einsiedel brings over 20 years of project management experience to the Sierra Madre Team involving both precious and base metal exploration projects throughout western Canada and Mexico. Carl is an independent consulting geologist and has been registered with the British Columbia Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists since 1992.
As a consultant Carl has helped many exploration companies review potential acquisitions and manage exploration projects in what industry people call “area plays” and he understands how difficult it is for junior mining companies to make a significant new discovery. In his capacity as a contractor Carl has also learned how challenging it can be to operate cost effectively in rugged environments and extremely remote areas.
Mr. von Einsiedel’s role with Sierra Madre is to identify and evaluate potential acquisitions and to manage the day to day operations of the Company. As an investor and the Company’s largest single shareholder Mr. von Einsiedel brings a keen awareness of how critical it is for exploration companies to choose projects that have exceptional exploration potential.
